FTCR days

When I started the Fiat Twin Cam Register in 1983, Guy was one of the early members (no.81). He showed up at the club's first public appearance at Knebworth Classic Car Show 1984. His red Abarth 124 Spider with dented door signwritten 'Arrrgh' was in the carpark - we smuggled it in to our display and it was the star piece!

Shortly after, he took over producing the club magazine Bialbero from me, and was a staunch ally. He was in process of leaving the Royal Engineers, a bit puzzled by civvy life, but announced he was going to start the world's best and most scientific tuning co for Fiat engines - nice dream, we thought. But he did!

Been out of touch with Guy many years, stupidly over politics - when I now try my old login, as I still have my Punto Cab with interesting engine questions a) it's not recognised, and b) shattering news that Guy just died - only days before Brexit.

I do regret not keeping up with a real friend and super-competent collaborator.
